What exactly is included in your guide service?
We provide GUIDE SERVICES ONLY - similar to a food tour guide. Our service includes a personalized local guide who takes you through Tokyo's neighborhoods, parks, temples, and cultural spots. The guide fee covers our expert's time, knowledge, and cultural guidance. Some locations may have entrance fees that you pay directly. Transportation, food, and drinks are separate expenses.
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking at least 7-10 days in advance to ensure availability and allow time for proper tour customization. For popular dates or specific venue requirements, booking 2-3 weeks ahead is ideal.
What languages do your guides speak?
All our guides are fluent in English and Japanese. Many also speak additional European languages depending on availability.
How much should I budget for a typical walking tour?
Beyond the guide fee, budget approximately $5-20 per person for temple/garden entrance fees, $15-35 for transportation, and $20-70 for food and drinks depending on your choices. Shopping and souvenirs vary widely depending on your interests.
Can you accommodate specific walking themes or interests?
Absolutely! That's our specialty. Whether you're interested in historical sites, modern architecture, nature walks, or shopping districts, we'll customize your experience. Our guides have deep knowledge across all Tokyo neighborhoods and themes.
What if locations are closed or walking routes are unavailable?
Tokyo is dynamic, so we always prepare backup options. If a planned location is unavailable, we'll immediately pivot to equally exciting alternatives that match your interests. Your guide will have multiple route options ready.
Is this suitable for solo travelers?
Yes! Many of our clients are solo walking enthusiasts. Our guides are experienced in making solo travelers feel comfortable and helping them explore Tokyo safely and confidently.
What's your cancellation policy?
You can cancel up to 48 hours before your tour for a full refund. Cancellations within 48 hours are subject to a 50% fee. Same-day cancellations or no-shows are non-refundable. We understand travel plans change and try to be flexible when possible.
Do you provide transportation?
Transportation is not included, but your guide will help navigate Tokyo's excellent public transit system and can arrange taxis when needed. We'll provide detailed transportation instructions and IC card assistance.
Can you help with special location access?
Yes! If there are specific locations or attractions you want to visit, let us know during booking. We can help arrange access (costs paid by you) and plan your walking tour around these destinations.
What should I bring on the tour?
Bring comfortable walking shoes, your camera/phone, a charged IC card or cash for transportation, and an open mind! We'll provide venue recommendations and help with any language barriers.
Are your tours suitable for all ages?
Most locations welcome all ages. During booking, let us know if you're traveling with minors or have mobility concerns so we can plan age-appropriate routes and walking distances.
